Tracking an early taste of winter in the coming days

KMIZ

TODAY: Conditions will be dreary most of the day with light rain possible mostly south of I-44 and cloud cover areawide. Temperatures will be trapped in the 30s and lower 40s throughout the day. Widespread showers will begin to fill in after sundown.

TOMORROW: As rain continues into early Sunday and temperatures drop, a slim chance for frozen precip enters the forecast. No sensible impacts are expected but sleet and even a few snow flurries could mix with the heavy cold rain throughout Sunday. Temperatures will be frigid all day in the 30s.

EXTENDED: Precipitation and clouds exit heading into Monday, allowing temperatures to plummet to the mid to upper 20s. With the passage of a dry cold front on Tuesday morning/early afternoon, chilly conditions continue through Halloween. Highs will be in the 40s the first half of the week with lows in the 20s.
