Tracking a warm up that brings more chances for rain

TODAY:

Clouds will will linger to start your Monday morning, but by mid-morning clouds will start to break apart and more sunshine will debut from west to east. Beyond the late morning, the rest of the day remains mostly sunny. Still, despite the sunshine, a breezy north wind will keep things cool. Highs Monday afternoon top out in the low 50's.

TOMORROW:

Clear skies and calming winds Monday night will allow temperatures early Tuesday to bottom out in the upper 20's and low 30's. This has prompted a Freeze Warning area wide. Winds will turn back southerly by midday Tuesday, warming us back into the mid-50's yet again. A lot of dry air will be present in the lower levels of the atmosphere, but rain will still try to return through the early afternoon. We'll have to see if it's enough to overcome the dry air. Still, the better chance for rain returns late overnight into Wednesday.

EXTENDED:

Wednesday is our best chance for rain. Widespread showers will overrun the area through the day. A few rumbles of thunder remains possible, but activity should be reminiscent of Sunday's rain. Wednesday is the first day back in the 60's. As the warmup continues through the week, showers and storms remain in the forecast as well. Daily chances for rain and thunder continue through Saturday, with temperatures climbing to near 80 by the weekend.
