Tracking a cool end to the weekend, before a warmup with more rain next week

TONIGHT: As the sun goes down, our temperatures will drop steadily into the 30's by midnight. Cooling will slow into the early morning hours as clouds move in, but still, expect lows, early Sunday, around freezing.

SUNDAY: Tomorrow is another cool and bright day. Temperatures will continue to fight a northwest breeze. Expect highs in the upper 40's.

EXTENDED: A cooler than average trend looks to continue into early next week, with temperatures trying to rebound on Monday. Southerly flow doesn't show up in time to get us back above the mark on Monday, but we climb to near 70 by Tuesday. Tuesday's warmth will be linked to more atmospheric moisture as well. Expect the possibility of showers in the morning, and a likelihood of showers and storms Tuesday night. Right now, the possibility of severe weather is being monitored, but it's too early to make that call with earnest. As of now, Wednesday looks like the rainy day in the forecast, with possibly an inch plus in store for some. Wet weather will taper off on Thursday. Cooler than average conditions fill in again behind this system, keeping us in the 50's leading into the weekend.
