Tracking light snow for parts of the area Wednesday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and cold with isolated slick spots on local roads. Lows in the low teens.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with light snow possible, especially along and north of I-70. Light freezing drizzle possible along and south of I-44. New snow accumulation between a dusting to 1". Highs in the upper teens.

EXTENDED: The cold snap continues through the rest of this week with another robust system moving in to the Midwest by Saturday, potentially bringing another round of snow to the area through late Saturday afternoon/early evening. The coldest air we have seen since 2014 moves in for the weekend with highs in the single digits and lows anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees below zero on Sunday and Monday mornings. There's a good chance at breaking record lows on Valentine's Day morning, along with wind chills in the -15 to -25 degree range during the day. Wind chills will remain 5 to 15 degrees below zero into Monday morning with another chance at spotty snow showers to start off next week.
