Tracking a chance for precipitation Monday, warmer this week

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and chilly with lows in the upper 20s.

TOMORROW: Cloudy with a chance for a few rain or snow showers. Highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.

EXTENDED: The upper level pattern this week will be fairly flat over the Midwest, meaning temperatures will be close to normal and precipitation will be at a minimum, at least until late next weekend. Temperatures will start in the upper 30s and low 40s early this week, and eventually to near 50 degrees by Wednesday and Thursday. A weak front moves through on Friday, but little to no precipitation is expected. That front will cool us back down into the upper 30s Friday and Saturday, followed by another more potent system on Sunday. Depending on the track and timing, precipitation type could change between rain or a wintry mix.
