Mizzou volleyball makes fifth straight NCAA Tournament

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou volleyball team is heading back to the NCAA Tournament and will face Northern Iowa in the opening round.

The Tigers will be on the road to face Northern Iowa on Friday at 4:30 p.m. Mizzou is in Nebraska's side of the bracket. If the Tigers win their first match, they will face the winner of Nebraska vs. Ball State on Saturday.

Mizzou outside hitter Dariana Hollingsworth-Santana said, "We had high hopes for hosting and whatever team we have up there on the screen is pretty relieving and nerve-wracking at the same time, because you don't really know what is heading your way."

Making the tournament has become an expectation for the team as the Tigers have made five straight trips to the NCAA Tournament.

Mizzou volleyball coach Josh Taylor said, "It feels good, and I know there are a lot of people who have come before me who have done some amazing things, and I not only want to uphold that, but I want to build on that. It's something we are looking forward to getting started, and tomorrow we have practice, and we'll go from there."

The Tigers finished the season with a record of 21-7 (13-5 SEC) in Josh and Molly Taylor's first season at the helm of the program.
