COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia City Manager John Glascock said Thursday he will recommend to the city council that the city end its contract with Columbia Public Schools that puts police officers in some district buildings.

"Some or all" of the officers, known as school resource officers, will be moved to the Columbia Police Department's Community Outreach Unit, according to a news release. The contract expires June 30.

Glascock spoke with ABC 17 News Friday about his recommendation.
