Tracking a foggy start to a mild and dry day

TODAY: Is a comfortable and dry day, with temperatures well below normal for late August. After the rain last night, temperatures and dew points are both in the 60s and 70s, with clear skies amid calm winds. This has created some fog that will be patchy but dense to start the day. This fog will ultimately lift into some morning clouds that will become increasingly broken and sparse in the afternoon. Expect sunshine this afternoon, but a few gray skies are possible this morning. Temperatures with a north wind will top out in the low 80s this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Skies remain clear overnight, leaving temperatures falling into the low-to-mid 60s by sunrise on Friday.

EXTENDED: South winds and mostly sunny skies will be efficient at warming us into the mid-to-upper 80s again Friday afternoon. With dew points in the 60s, we may feel like the low 90s. A cold front eases in overnight into Saturday. I currently expect most to have a dry night on Friday, but storms will be near just to our west. The remnant clouds and showers from these dying storms will visit us overnight and may linger into Saturday morning. Most of Saturday appears dry, and we'll even become bright under partly cloudy skies by the afternoon. Temperatures may again strike the mid-80s, but we're cooler on Sunday under mostly sunny skies. High pressure likely builds in from the north, and the strength of the high means a lot for Sunday's forecast. We may end up in the low 80s with dry air. Rain chances return again on Monday to kick off next week.
