Tracking a warm and muggy weekend with daily storm chances

TODAY: Thursday is sunny to start, with increasing clouds. South winds around 5-15 mph throughout the day will encourage warmer temperatures this afternoon. Humidity will be higher today, creating a heat index a few degrees warmer. We'll feel like the mid-to-upper 80s.

TONIGHT: Skies remain partly cloudy to mostly clear. Temperatures fall into the 70s around sunset, and into the 60s by sunrise Friday.

EXTENDED: Scattered showers and storms remain possible Friday morning. Much of the evening may remain dry, unless outflow from morning activity can kick off additional storm development in the afternoon. Otherwise, any forcing for storm development looks to remain to our north along a surface boundary, or a sort of stationary front. What happens to storms that develop to our north Friday night is somewhat uncertain, but these storms may move south into Saturday morning. Another round of storms looks to develop near the boundary, which should remain nearby or just to our north Saturday afternoon. If this boundary stays far enough north, dry time looks likely in between rain chances. Another system moves in on Sunday to increase our rain chances and coverage of rain both Sunday and Monday. Temperatures look slightly warmer through this period, with mid-to-upper 80s Friday through Monday, but humidity may be high enough for feels-like temperatures near 90, particularly on Saturday, but possibly Sunday and Monday. With that said, rain may keep folks cooler than forecast on Sunday and Monday.
