Tracking more quiet weather ahead of heat, humidity, and thunderstorms this weekend

TODAY: Wednesday is sunny and mild, with a north wind around 10-15 mph. High temperatures are forecast near 75°.

TONIGHT: Skies remain clear tonight, but winds begin to shift from the south. Temperatures are still cooling quickly overnight, back into the 40s by Thursday morning.

EXTENDED: Thursday starts a bit chillier, but with south winds, highs are expected in the mid-70s by the afternoon. Clouds are increasing in the afternoon on Thursday, ahead of decaying showers and storms to our west Thursday evening. We'll likely stay dry until our low-level atmospheric winds ramp up after midnight. Early Friday morning, storms will likely develop, bringing scattered rain and thunder, with isolated chances for hail and gusty winds. This may linger through 7-9 a.m. on Friday, before drier weather midday. Friday looks warm and muggy as Friday morning's storms mark the onset of a wetter, warmer pattern. Highs are forecast in the upper 80s with heat indexes near 90. Then, another chance for storms will come on Friday evening. Severe weather will be possible again on Friday night. Rain and thunderstorm chances continue on Saturday and Sunday, but there should be plenty of dry time before rain coverage increases early next week. The weekend looks warm overall, with temperatures near 90 and abundant humidity.
