Tracking modest rain chances this afternoon

TODAY: A few showers and weak thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon. Thursday's high is forecast in the low-to-middle 60s with a variable light wind becoming a north breeze this evening.

TONIGHT: Temperatures fall into the 50s around sunset, and drier weather returns after a tenth or two-tenths of an inch of rain north of I-70 this evening.

EXTENDED: Friday is another chilly start near 40° at sunrise. Temperatures are expected in the low 60s on Friday afternoon with more sunshine. The weekend is generally dry and cool with highs in the 60s on Saturday and 70s on Sunday. Saturday morning is the coolest, with lows possibly in the upper 30s. This could yield frost in some valleys. Better rain and thunderstorm chances return Monday through Wednesday alongside temperatures in the 70s.
