Tracking a rainy forecast into Easter weekend

TODAY: Monday is another toasty day, with highs forecast in the upper 80s under sunny skies. Winds will be southwesterly at 15-20 mph with gusts reaching 35 mph at times.

TONIGHT: Warmth spills into the overnight, with temperatures not falling into the 70s for many until sunset. 65° is the forecast low.

EXTENDED: Tuesday is warm, but a cold front approaching will generate additional clouds and a rain chance by the afternoon. Rain chances are best around sunset, when the front makes it through the region. Scattered showers and weak storms are expected Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Rain and clouds remain through Wednesday, keeping us cooler. The boundary driving rain chances lift north Thursday, potentially allowing temperatures to warm into the 60s, but more rain and thunderstorms are forecast as an area of low pressure moves through the region. Another low moves in Friday night into Saturday, keeping daily rain chances into Easter weekend. Temperatures will continue to fluctuate with the warm and cool side of each system, but also remain spring-like. Rain chances may let up in time for Easter itself, but until then, we could see 1 to 3 inches of rain.
