Tracking a chilly Friday, a freeze tonight, and a mild weekend

TODAY: Friday is chilly and starting a bit wet for some, as showers trail behind a cold front. Temperatures in the 40s this morning will seem seasonably warm at first, but in the greater context of a north wind, today is overall chilly. Highs will only reach the low to mid-50s this afternoon. Most of the day is dry after 9 a.m. and sunshine is expected to return late in the day.

TONIGHT: Temperatures continue to cool, reaching near freezing by sunrise Saturday. If you've put any sensitive plants out on the patio early, be sure to bring them in tonight!

EXTENDED: The rest of the forecast is warming, with highs near 60 Saturday, and in the low 70s on Sunday. Warmer air brings 80s and chances for storms back into the picture. Tuesday through Thursday looks like the wettest window of time in the forecast, with multiple storm chances.
