Tracking sunny and mild weather into a weekend that ends cold and wet

TODAY: Thursday is sunny and mild, with highs in the 50s thanks to south winds around 15-20 mph this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Temperatures remain mild overnight, in the 40s through sunrise Friday. Skies remain mostly clear.

EXTENDED: The weekend starts pleasant, with sunshine, and highs near 60 Friday, and in the mid-60s Saturday. Warm air is building ahead of an area of low pressure that moves in on Sunday. We'll start the day in the 50s, but in the afternoon, temperatures will begin to fall quickly. We'll likely get temperatures back to the low 40s by sunset. Showers will onset during the midday, and then transition to snow showers around sunset. Snow may bring minor accumulations. Cold air fills the region early next week, with highs in the 30s Monday, and 40s Tuesday.
