Tracking more winter air despite a slight warm up
TODAY: Tuesday is notably warmer than Tuesday, with temperatures expected to reach the upper 20s to near 30 by the afternoon. Winds have been from the south overnight, which has warmed the region into the teens, if not the 20s, early, but northwest winds arrive this morning and will keep us mostly out of the 30s.
TONIGHT: Despite this, another wind shift is on the way. An area of high pressure slides through overnight, making tomorrow morning a colder start with temperatures forecast around 5°.
EXTENDED: After a colder start, south winds are expected to do much of the heavy lifting, bringing temperatures to near 30° by the afternoon. Both Tuesday and Wednesday are bright and generally sunny days, but more clouds return on Thursday as we track a stronger upper-level wave that clips the region. With very little moisture, nothing more than a few flurries to light snow at most is expected. Clouds will decrease on Friday. Highs are back into the teens Friday and Saturday, with near 0° lows Friday through Sunday. A slow warming trend takes us into the 30s by Monday.
