Tracking a warm start to a week that ends cold
TODAY: Monday will be notably warmer thanks to southwest winds around 5-10 mph and mostly sunny skies. Highs likely reach 50° for many, with some in the low-to-mid 50s. Some elevated fire risk exists across the Ozarks, with low relative humidity, and periodic wind gusts to 15-20 mph.
TONIGHT: We remain warmer than average overnight, as south winds remain. Lows fall into the mid-30s.
EXTENDED: Beginning mostly sunny, Tuesday sees increasing clouds into the afternoon. Still, the day as a whole appears bright as these are thin clouds. This cloud cover precedes a cold front that will bring a chance for rain overnight into Wednesday morning. Very little rain is forecast, and many may stay dry. After highs in the upper-50s on Tuesday, Wednesday's high is a bit chillier near 40. This is typical for January, and we'll be there again on Friday before another cold front drops highs into the 30s if not 20s over the weekend. Some flurries may develop behind this cold front Friday into Saturday, but totals currently look negligible.
