Tracking the return of winter air and a rain/snow mix chance
TODAY: Friday is cloudy, with a northwest breeze that is expected to keep highs in the upper 40s after a start in the low 40s. Winds are breezy near 10-15 mph in places this morning, but winds will relax through the day. Skies appear overcast at times early, but a trend towards more sunshine will likely have many partly cloudy through much of the day.
TONIGHT: A wave moves in from the west, increasing clouds after 6 p.m. Showers return after 9 p.m., and continue into Saturday morning. Some snowflakes will mix in on Saturday morning, but no impactful accumulation is forecast.
EXTENDED: Saturday starts with raindrops and snowflakes, but we are expecting clearing skies through the day, leaving us mostly sunny by the afternoon. High temperatures remain cool, in the low 40s Saturday and in the 30s Sunday. A warm-up takes us to near 50 Monday and Tuesday, but a cold front sweeps in from the north Tuesday night, bringing slight rain chances with it overnight into Wednesday. Highs return to near 40 Wednesday and Thursday.
