Tracking a chance for snow and the return of dangerous cold this weekend

TODAY: Friday will be another chilly day, but this time for all. After a warm day for some in the south, temperatures are more uniformly in the 30s this afternoon under cloudy skies.

TONIGHT: Clouds remain overnight, keeping temperatures steadily in the low 30s.

EXTENDED: Saturday brings chances for snow with more cold. Snow will likely be confined along and north of a line from Brunswick to Montgomery City. Up to an inch at most is forecast. This is where temperatures will also be in the 20s for much of the day. Columbia may climb into the low 30s by midday before the cold moves in that afternoon. Temperatures drop hard overnight into Sunday morning. An ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day is in place for Sunday morning as windchills are forecast from -5° to -15°. A warming pattern brings us 40s and 50s next week, with rain chances around midweek.
