Tracking ups and downs in an overall cold week
TODAY: Tuesday will be a return to dry weather, but snow and ice will remain on the ground through the day. Temperatures will climb from near 15° to near 32° prompting some melt in the afternoon sunshine. Most of the day will be at least partly cloudy, but grab the sunglasses for brighter conditions this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Skies will cloud up again overnight, ahead of a cold front that is arriving Wednesday evening.
EXTENDED: Most of Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, but with a south wind, temperatures are expected in the upper 30s to near 40°. A few sprinkles to flurries will be possible in the afternoon and evening, but trace amounts are expected. The biggest impact will be arctic air that falls in behind the front. We expect lows Thursday morning near 10°. Wind chills will be near 0, or at least in the low single digits. Thursday's high hits the low 20s wit mostly sunny skies, then it's back to more mild conditions with highs near 40 to end the week. Mostly dry conditions are expected over the weekend, with highs in the 30s and 40s.
