Tracking another chance at rain Friday with a dry weekend still in the forecast
TODAY: Highs in the mid-70s are expected in some cooler air behind last night's cold front. Light showers will wind down in the south by sunrise, leaving us dry and mostly sunny through the day. Winds are light from the north through the morning, before returning to a southerly direction through the afternoon.
TONIGHT: Skies remain mostly clear overnight, and temperatures remain in the low 60s and upper 50s by sunrise with a continued south wind.
EXTENDED: By Friday morning, clouds will be picking up and may be present by sunrise. This is as a cold front sweeps in from the north. We'll be dry through 7 a.m. for most, but light showers will start to fill in through the late morning and into the noon hour. The wettest hours look to be during the afternoon after rain fills in the map, and erodes any dry air that may be stubborn early Friday. Most will see less than a tenth of an inch, but some could get close to a quarter inch in a narrow west to east band where rain falls for the longest time frame. Highs on Friday are exceptionally cool, in the low 70s. Saturday may harbor a few showers south of HWY 50 during the morning, but in Columbia, things look dry, with even some clearing skies by morning. The forecast for kickoff at Faurot looks dry, but also bright with sunshine returning during the morning hours, and sticking around through the afternoon. Temperatures reach the mid-70s by Saturday afternoon. Highs linger in the 70s through early next week, with dry weather forecast through the next 7 days.
