Tracking mild stretch before another cooldown this weekend
TODAY: Thursday is mild; you could even say cool compared to climatological averages. With highs in the low-to-mid 80s and dew points in the low 60s, we should still feel like 80s at the warmest this afternoon. Skies are mostly sunny, with winds at 5-10 mph from the northeast.
TONIGHT: Skies remain mostly clear overnight, with winds calm to around 5 mph, still from the northeast.
EXTENDED: Friday is not much different from Thursday. An approaching trough of low pressure to our west, and a weakening and increasingly distant high pressure to the northeast will leave some very weak northeasterly winds and possibly some variable winds. This may allow us to be a few degrees warmer, but likely won't increase humidity, or actively heat us up. We expect sunshine and highs in the 80s to feel like 80s. A cold front will approach from the northwest on Saturday, bringing a wind shift, clouds, and a chance for showers by the morning. Currently, timing is estimated at mid-morning in the northwest, to early afternoon in the southeast. Some will warm ahead of the front, but overall another mild to possibly cool day is expected. It's what comes behind Saturday's front that matters this time. The cooldown will be potent with this one. We expect this to leave temperatures in the 50s Sunday morning, and in the 70s to low 80s in spots in the afternoon. Lows and highs are forecast in the 50s and 70s respectively Monday through Wednesday.
