Tracking increasing warmth and weekend rain chances
TODAY: Wednesday is mostly sunny and mostly dry, however a complex of storms across the northern plains may drift a few clouds our way. It's an unlikely scenario, but it is possible that the remnant wave from this activity may spark a spot shower or storm this afternoon. Again, it's likely that we stay dry today, and with that high temperatures are expected to reach upper 80s to low 90s.
TONIGHT: Skies will remain clear overnight, leaving us with a chance at clouds by Thursday morning.
EXTENDED: Thursday morning clouds will be tied to another decaying complex of showers and storms from the north. This gives us a low chance for rain on Thursday morning. If rain can make it to mid-Missouri, it may keep temperatures cooler on Thursday. Even so, highs are expected in the 80s. These will likely be in the 90s if rain holds off. Friday is dry and warm, with highs likely in the 90s under mostly sunny skies. Saturday appears mostly dry, but we'll be watching for showers and storms in the west as we near an area of surface low pressure and better moisture. This will likely enhance rain chances Sunday and Monday, but may keep rain forecast into Tuesday. These do not look like washout events, but repetitive isolated to scattered showers and storms focused largely in the overnight to morning hours.
