Tracking a warm, stormy day with a cool down to come

TODAY: Wednesday is another ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day for the possibility of seeing some heat index values, especially down south, reach up to 105. We'll see lots of widespread showers today, with off and on rain chances. Our greatest chance for rain looks to be near the late afternoon, ahead of an approaching cold front.

TONIGHT: Storm chances still linger tonight, with lows dipping down into the upper 60s.

EXTENDED: There could be a chance we see some morning showers on Thursday, but the real change will be in the temperatures. Highs tomorrow only reach the mid to upper 70s, a huge turn around from today's temps. Those storm chances move farther south and for the remainder of the week, we look forward to partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures only peaking out around the upper 70s. By the next work week, temperatures will gradually begin to climb again, becoming more seasonal as we enter into August.
