Tracking daily thunderstorm chances the rest of the week

TODAY: Monday feels like summer, with highs in the 80s, feeling like near 90 with continued summer humidity. A few storms are possible this afternoon, but most of the day is dry under partly cloudy skies. Winds are light and variable with a stationary front draped across the region.

TONIGHT: Skies remain partly cloudy overnight. Any storms at sunset will weaken overnight, leaving us mostly dry until Tuesday. Temperatures fall to near 70 by sunrise.

EXTENDED: Some showers and storms will be possible at the day's start, but Tuesday brings better chances for storms through the day. An upper level disturbance overtop a still present stationary boundary will emphasize chances for storms on Tuesday. We'll see scattered chances for rain, lightning, and a few gusty winds by Tuesday afternoon. While severe weather is generally unlikely, we can't rule out isolated wind damage with the strongest storms. Locally heavy rain will accompany most storms. Tuesday brings the best chance for storms this week, although isolated storms may be possible Wednesday and Thursday. Each day will be mostly dry with partly cloudy skies, and a high in the 80s. A better chance for rain works in by the weekend, though, as another upper level wave rolls into the region. Timing on this is uncertain, but it brings better rain chances both Friday and Saturday.
