Tracking rain chances over the holiday weekend
TODAY: Thursday is sunny and warm, with a south breeze around 5-10 mph. This will gradually lift dew points today and into the weekend as south flow continues. We'll feel like low 90s with a true temperature in the upper 80s.
TONIGHT: Skies stay clear, and winds light, overnight. Lows fall to near 70.
EXTENDED: Mostly sunny skies return once more on Friday as highs climb to near 90 under more south flow. We'll feel like mid-90s through the heat of the day. This heat and humidity may contribute to a spot shower or two in the west near HWY 65 Friday night around 6-11 p.m., but the chances of this are very low. Most will have a totally dry Friday, with more dry time on the way over the weekend. Southerly flow continues on Saturday ahead of a weakening cold front to our west. Some showers and storms are possible Saturday in this pattern, but many will be dry through much of Saturday. The cold front arrives early Sunday, bringing another chance for rain along and ahead of it through the day. Generally, a widespread chance for a tenth to a quarter of an inch of rain is forecast, with locally higher amounts. Warmth and humidity has us feeling like 90s over the weekend, and into next week. Daily rain chances persist off and on through Wednesday.
