Tracking better rain chances this weekend and a break in humidity next week

TODAY: Thursday once more is a copy and paste of the day prior, but it may be our last like this. We expect heat and humidity to the tune of a temperature near 90 and a heat index once again near 100. Winds will be from the southwest around 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: An isolated shower is possible this evening around the dinner hour. A better chance for rain will come specifically in the northwest overnight. After about 11 p.m., a complex of storms will likely blow into the region near Brunswick, Marshall, and Macon. This weakening line of storms may initially pack some gusty winds, but our main event will be locally heavy rain with some lightning and thunder.

EXTENDED: Temperatures don't cool much from this, as we're starting Friday with muggy 70s across the region. Rain will scatter clouds across the region, but showers will be diminishing around sunrise. Overnight storms will have been triggered by a cold front that will come to stall out nearby. This boundary will serve as a focus for more storm chances again Friday afternoon, in a more scattered manner than what we've had in days past. Temperatures should reflect this with highs only in the mid-80s. No severe weather is expected. This boundary gets washed out in southerly flow on Saturday. This will give us more spotty rain chances and generally warm temperatures back to the upper 80s to near 90. Better rain chances show up again on Sunday, especially Sunday night into Monday as we track a more pronounced cold front. Widespread showers and storms may linger into Monday, before a drier afternoon given current timing estimates. We expect a fall in dew point, but it may be delayed until Tuesday. Highs are generally expected in the mid-80s early next week, with lower humidity at least through Wednesday.
