Tracking a hot afternon with isolated storm chances

TODAY: Tuesday is another hot and humid day with partly cloudy and mostly dry skies. However, We'll be watching storms to our north that will fire along a stationary boundary. These may drift into the region near Brunswick and Marceline to near Macon. While this would bring some relief from the heat, it would be temporary and targeted. Very limited potential for damaging winds will accompany the strongest storms. Severe weather is unlikely. Additionally, isolated storms may be possible further south, but this is relatively unlikely. Lightning, very isolated heavy rain, and gusty non-severe thunderstorm winds would be our main concern with these. Highs in most places will near 90, with dewpoints in the 70s we once again will feel like upper 90s.

TONIGHT: Skies will become mostly clear overnight, and temperatures will fall into the mid-70s. We expect dry conditions.

EXTENDED: More heat and humidity continue through the rest of the work week, with heat index values near 95-100 each day. We'll have mostly dry conditions Wednesday and Thursday, with only isolated storm chances around 10%. Friday is the first sign of better rain chances. Scattered storms may be possible Friday and off and on through the weekend as our upper ridge breaks down. Exact timing and placement is uncertain, but this could contribute to slightly cooler temperatures.
