Tracking scattered afternoon showers and a warmer second half of the week

TODAY: Monday starts dry, with shower chances increasing through the afternoon. Skies may start partly cloudy, but become overcast by the afternoon. Temperatures reach mid-60s amid a 10-15 mph easterly wind.

TONIGHT: Shower chances return this afternoon and are expected to stick around into Tuesday morning. Temperatures cool into the 50s.

EXTENDED: Tuesday is mostly dry, with a few chances at spotty showers under overcast skies. Temperatures again struggle to reach 70, leaving us in the 60s for highs. Showers return Tuesday night into Wednesday. Wednesday's sunshine helps put us back in the 70s. It is very uncertain how Thursday and Friday plays, as we have questions surrounding the evolution of an upper trough. Some data wants to push the trough well east of us by Thursday, keeping us drier for late week. Some data suggests a lingering upper trough to bring a widespread chance for showers and storms at least on Thursday. With such a stark contrast, for now we'll move forward with a low chance for rain on Thursday. Friday looks drier, with sunshine and warmer temperatures expected into the weekend.
