Tracking rain chances mid-week

TODAY: Monday will be an extension of the weekend weather-wise. A northeast breeze sustained around 10-15 mph at times under partly cloudy skies will keep high temperatures cool once more. Expect highs in the mid-60s this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Temperatures fall into the 40s overnight, with clearing skies and a variable wind.

EXTENDED: With a cool start, but mostly sunny skies and an easterly breeze, we expect slightly warmer temperatures on Tuesday. Temperatures should reach low 70s by the afternoon. We'll have a brief break from rain and clouds with upper level ridging in place, but another upper level low will slide in shortly. The arrival of this next feature will cast a chance for showers and thunderstorms our way as we look to Wednesday. Rain may begin as soon as daybreak for those in the southwest. Rain will try to push in from the southwest, but it's uncertain how far north the rain makes it. We'll have a chance for rain areawide, but the chances are much greater in the south and lower in the north. The same can be said for Thursday. A cold front will push in from the north and stir more rain chances. These will be greatest in the south where the greatest moisture will be. The front pushes rain chances south of the region by Friday. This leaves us likely dry over the weekend, where we'll have a mild 70s generally forecast.
