Tracking strong storms Friday
TODAY: Thursday is another sunny and warm day with highs expected to near 80 by the afternoon, if not remaining in the upper 70s. A shower or weak thunderstorm may be possible from 4-10 p.m. but this will be very isolated and most will be dry.
TONIGHT: There will be an increase in cloud cover tonight, that will be more widespread. This will make viewing tonight's total lunar eclipse a bit more challenging. The eclipse begins around 11 p.m., peaks around 2 a.m., and ends by 5 a.m.
EXTENDED: Friday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day-read our Weather Alert Day Blog for more details. We will be windy and warm before a chance for storms that could produce significant damaging wind along with the possibility of hail and tornadoes. A wind advisory is in effect for most of the region as non-thunderstorm winds could gust to 55 mph. Storms will likely exit the region by sunset Friday night. This will leave us cooler over the weekend. Highs are expected near 60 Saturday, and 50 Sunday. Both days are bright, and dry. Warmer weather returns for Monday (St. Patrick's Day) so it should be great day to find a patio and celebrate. We'll continue another warm trend early next week with 70s forecast Monday and Tuesday, before our next rain chance arrives Wednesday to drop us into the 60s.
