Tracking the end of snow showers that leave fresh accumulations

TODAY: Friday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day, as snow has accumulated overnight, leaving travel tricky again to end the week. We'll see a fluffy accumulation across most of the region, complicating travel, especially on untreated roads. Get the latest here. After snow stops, we'll likely stay cloudy, with temperatures struggling to reach the low 30s.

TONIGHT: Overnight, clouds stick around, a flurry or two may continue overnight, but no additional accumulation is expected. Winds will be northwesterly overnight, with a shift around the morning to southwesterly.

EXTENDED: Saturday will be warmer, with some sunshine and southerly flow. We'll get into the mid-30s, encouraging melting. Then, on Sunday, another shortwave system brings a cold front and a slim chance at rain or snow showers. Most will stay dry Sunday, when we'll have another chance at above freezing air. Monday will be cooler behind the front, with cold air filling the region once again. Just how cold the air is remains uncertain.
