Tracking a chilly start to a snowy and icy weekend

TODAY: Friday is partly cloudy with a cool north breeze keeping us in the low 30s for highs.

TONIGHT: Overnight, winds turn easterly, and we'll gain a few clouds. Expect lows in the teens.

EXTENDED: Saturday starts dry, but by the afternoon, some may see snow showers before we transition to sleet and ice mix overnight for some. Saturday night through Monday, a winter storm will move through the region, prompting ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Days. Get the latest details in our blog. Sunday will be snowy and icy all day, with conditions rapidly deteriorating. Come Sunday morning, travel will be very difficult and worsen throughout the day. We'll have temperatures in the 20s all day Sunday, with winds gusting to 35 mph at times. Snow wraps up and we get colder on Monday, when highs only reach 15-20 degrees. Arctic cold and sunshine lasts Tuesday through Thursday.
