Tracking a system that makes for a wet Saturday
TODAY: Friday brings more warmth to the region as a warm front slowly moves into the region. Despite this, winds are largely easterly, if not south easterly. The arrival of south winds to the south of the warm front will be later into the overnight. This keeps highs in the low 40s near Columbia, and in the 30s north of I-70. We may again reach near 50 around the lake of the Ozarks.
TONIGHT: This comes as this whole system has been delayed, meaning rain chances also are expected to hold off until overnight for most. Evening showers could arrive in the west as soon as 6 p.m. but for folks in Columbia eastward, rain will be deeper into the overnight. Rain will mostly come after midnight and exit Saturday.
EXTENDED: Saturday will be a wet one, though with rain lingering in the picture most of the day, not completely clearing until the evening. Rain totals range from a quarter inch to an inch or more from the west to the east respectively. Expect higher rain totals to the east where this system encounters better moisture. High temperatures reach upper 40s to near 50. We'll be drier Sunday, with another system to bring rain on Monday. Highs remain in the 50s Sunday and Monday, but a cool down comes through the middle of next week, with possible precipitation chances.
