Tracking heat, storms, and a beautiful weekend
TODAY: Wednesday will be hot and humid, feeling like near 100 with a true temperature expected only in the 90s. Spotty showers this morning will be possible, fizzling out through midday, only to redevelop as storms this afternoon and evening. The best chance tonight comes near I-44. Most will be dry.
TONIGHT: Clouds will clutter the sky after storms die overnight, leaving us partly cloudy. Winds remain from the south and we remain in the 70s.
EXTENDED: Thursday is much the same; hot and humid with a chance for storms. This time, storm chances will be a bit better in the afternoon. From 3-7 p.m. isolated storms will bubble up, and then die with sunset. There's about a 20% chance that storms impact the Mizzou game Thursday evening. Lightning and locally moderate to heavy rain will be our greatest impact. More widespread rain will return after midnight Friday, and more likely during the day Friday. Weakening showers arrive Friday morning, with storms developing along the front in the afternoon. Severe weather threat here is low, but tied to wherever the front is during the afternoon. The biggest impact from this front will be lower humidity and highs in the 80s under sunny skies through the weekend.
