Tracking a sunny Wednesday before a stormy pattern through the weekend

TODAY: Wednesday is a sunny and mild day. Sunshine and a 5-10 mph breeze from the north will even out to put our high back near 70 this afternoon.

TONIGHT: We'll pick up some low clouds overnight tonight, but remain dry. Temperatures fall into the upper 40s with a light easterly breeze overnight.

EXTENDED: By sunrise, we'll have a chance for spotty showers on Thursday. Rain chances will increase through the day, but we likely keep plenty of dry time for outdoor activities, we'll just have to dodge a few showers. Temperatures settle in the mid-to-upper 60s with clouds and spotty rain. Rain coverage and chances will increase late in the day and overnight as a warm front lifts across the region. This brings a chance for storms, with a few embedded strong to severe storms possible Friday morning. This leaves us warm and wet Friday morning. We'll continue to warm through the day, but a break in rainfall may arrive around mid-to-late morning. This may allow for sufficient recovery of the atmosphere to encourage strong to severe storms to develop along and ahead of a cold front/dry line feature. All types of severe weather would be possible in this scenario. An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day is likely coming for Friday, and potentially the rest of the weekend as we more chances for storms Saturday and Sunday. We'll likely see the cold front stall and re-adjust west, leaving us warm and mainly dry Saturday. We'll have highs in the 80s. An isolated storm or two can't be ruled out, but our main concern is with activity developing south and west of the region. This activity may arrive here late in the day, towards the evening. From here, we'll track the final push of the cold front that clears us Sunday, but brings one last chance for strong to severe storms. Details get fuzzier the further you look into the weekend, but as things become clearer, we will let you know. Things are cooler and quieter early next week.
