Tracking the return of spring warmth
TODAY: Thursday is mostly sunny, with a light breeze from the south west. This combination brings temperatures from the 30s into the 60s this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Winds from the south keep things stirred up a bit overnight, keeping us rather mild compared to nights past. Temperatures settle in the 40s overnight.
EXTENDED: This south flow amps up a bit on Friday, driving temps into the 70s. This comes ahead of a weak front that brings slight chances for showers and MAYBE a rumble of thunder, but this chance is slim south of HWY 24, meaning most of us should stay dry. The front stalls overhead or nearby on Saturday. We'll likely stay cloudy in it's presence, but we're dry enough to avoid rain chances on Saturday until the low level winds south of us pick up overnight. This increases rain chances Saturday night into Sunday. Temperatures on Saturday are likely variable, but should range somewhere in the 70s. This boundary will complicate temperatures through Monday, with highs somewhere between 60s 80s as long as it's overhead. This boundary between air masses will likely result in thunderstorm chances Sunday and Monday. The chance for storms on Sunday will begin in the morning, and remain in the forecast through the day. This doesn't mean it will rain all day, but for now we're watching for storm potential through the day. It's a good idea to have a backup plan for Easter egg hunts. Monday, there are indications that this front may lift north ahead of an area of low pressure. Depending on the time of this low, we could find ourselves with another round of thunderstorms, with a slightly higher severe threat. Plenty will change between now and then, but we'll be watching for that potential on Monday. Showers and clouds may linger into Tuesday, with temperatures likely falling, putting highs potentially in the 50s.
