Tracking a cooler afternoon before a late week warm-up

TODAY: Afternoon highs only climb to nearly 40 degrees thanks to winds out of the northwest following yesterday's cold front. Winds remain gusty out of the northwest up to 30 mph. Skies remain overcast throughout the afternoon hours.

TONIGHT: Overnight lows cool to the mid-20s leading to a hard freeze which can cause harm to freshly bloomed or planted plants. Winds remain out of the northwest at 8-12 mph with partly cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: Temperatures look to begin to rise starting Wednesday where we reach into the lower 50s. By this weekend we see temperatures climb above average into the lower 70s remaining dry with the exception of a few isolated showers possible Friday night.
