Tracking a wet Monday
TODAY: Widespread rain is forecast today, especially in the after sunrise. Some light showers this morning, will eventually progress into more widespread moderate rainfall. This will continue through at least 7 p.m. for many, before a short break ahead of a line of thunderstorms along a cold front. This cold front moves through the region after 9 p.m., leaving us cooler overnight. 1-2 inches of rain is expected, with more possible on a very localized basis. A wind advisory is in place through the day, for winds that may gust as high as 40+ mph.
TONIGHT: Behind rain, temperatures will cool overnight. Expect 30s by the time we wake up. We'll see some breaks in the clouds overnight, but by sunrise, we're back to being overcast.
EXTENDED: Tuesday is a wintry day, with overcast skies, a chance for sprinkles and possibly a snow flake or two, with temperatures stuck in the 30s for most of the day. The cold front brings westerly winds around 15-25 mph, gusting to 30. If we can warm, which is not a certainty given our cloud and wind forecast, we'll just get into the 40s. So expect a cold day. Wednesday starts cold and calm, with temps in the 20s, but we will warm back into the 50s by Wednesday afternoon. This warm up carries us into the 60s Thursday, and 70s by Friday and into Saturday, where we'll be watching the approach of a weak cold front by Sunday.
