Tracking spring-like temperatures and precipitation in the week ahead

TODAY: Tuesday brings even more warmth, with temperatures starting warmer than on Monday morning. Expect highs to reach into the 60s under abundant sunshine, with a south breeze.

TONIGHT: Temperatures stay even warmer overnight, with lows dipping only to near 40 thanks to more south winds.

EXTENDED: This gives folks an even better jump point to achieve even more warmth through Wednesday afternoon. This is enhanced by better south winds returning. We'll expect a partly cloudy sky and highs near 70. Winds continue overnight, helping build in some upper level instability. This promotes some limited chance for thunderstorms Wednesday night. Should they develop locally, we could see a quick dose of rain and thunder before these storms push east overnight into Thursday morning. However there is some chance that these develop on the edge of or south and east of the region. The best potential for isolated hail with these storms lies generally south of the region towards the Missouri/Arkansas state line. Thursday will be slightly cooler, but highs still reach near 60. Mild and dry conditions continue over the weekend with 50s Friday and Saturday. Warmth returns to place highs near 70 Sunday and Monday, which helps return the chance of storms by Monday.
