Tracking more warmth and a chance at thunder this week
TODAY: Mostly sunny skies and south winds will get our temperatures back into the mid-50s this afternoon, helping to melt any remaining snow on the ground.
TONIGHT: Clouds pass through overnight thanks to an upper level short wave, but winds largely remain southerly overnight, keeping temperatures in the 30s through Tuesday morning.
EXTENDED: With continued southerly surface winds, we'll keep highs climbing, to near 60 on Tuesday, and to near 70 on Wednesday. Both days see plenty of sunshine, but Wednesday brings a few extra clouds, especially in the evening. We'll see chances for thunderstorms Wednesday night into Thursday morning. After the rain passes, we'll remain warm, with highs again reaching near 60 under partly cloudy skies on Thursday. A slight pattern change will drop highs into the mid-50s on Friday, but this is still warmer than average, and we're back near 60s over the weekend.
