Holiday weekend travel forecast

If you have any holiday travel plans, things could get interesting for you this year as an active weather pattern is in store for much of the United States.

Looking across the country at current flight delays and cancellations the numbers aren't looking too bad tonight. There is a wide variety of delays, but not many cancellations. This could change though the closer we head towards Christmas Eve as a stronger low pressure system will bring more precipitation across the United States.

Showers are expected Friday morning, with a secondary impactful round from Christmas Eve throughout the first half of Christmas Monday.

If you have any plans on traveling nearby tomorrow morning via car, showers are in store as a major low pressure system looks to drop up to 1/2" along much of Mid-Missouri. This system pushes east later into the afternoon hours Friday posing more issues if you are planning to travel east anytime throughout the overnight hours Friday.
