Tracking a temperature rollercoaster with a few chances at rain

TODAY: Tuesday is a cold and clear start, with high pressure sitting squarely over the region. We will start in the upper 30s and warm to near 70 by the afternoon thanks to sunshine, and a slight west southwest wind by the afternoon.

TONIGHT: We'll see a more southerly wind tonight, as a warm front lifts through the region, bringing a chance for showers and thunderstorms overnight. Temperatures fall to near 50, staying warmer overnight.

EXTENDED: Rain chances wind down through the early morning hours as the front lifts further to the north. This leaves us dry the rest of the day, with partly cloudy skies, and warmer temperatures. Highs reach near 80 on Wednesday and Thursday. We'll be dry until late Thursday night into Friday morning, as we'll watch showers and storms develop ahead of a cold front that pushes through Friday morning. Rain chances will remain until midday Friday, behind the front. Highs will suffer because of this, reaching only near 60s and 70s. Saturday is cooler, with clouds and a high in the 50s. We're near 60 on Sunday and Monday, with a chance at more sunshine. With all rounds of rain, chances are best north of I-70, with some there reaching a half inch or more over the course of the week.
