Tracking showers and storms before a cooler weekend

Today: Afternoon highs reach near 80 degrees with a second round of storms expected after 5 PM. Gusty winds and brief downpours remain the primary threats.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the lower 60s with scattered showers and storms. Winds remain out of the south sustained at 4-8 mph.

Extended: Showers and storms remain throughout the region until mid-morning Thursday. Highs begin to decrease substantially throughout the second half of the week into the coming weekend. Conditions remain dry throughout this time with highs into the 60s. Some portions of Mid-Missouri could see frost early Sunday morning as lows dip into the mid to upper 30s.
