Tracking hit and miss rain chances with a warm-up on the horizon
TONIGHT: We've seen morning clouds break apart, but some clouds to our northwest are moving in this evening. This likely isn't enough to leave us overcast but it may bring partly to mostly cloudy skies in our last hours of daylight, and a spot shower or two. The vast majority of us will stay dry. Temperatures will fall into the low 70s by sunrise on Friday.
TOMORROW: We'll have chances for showers and storms Friday morning. Storms at sunrise in southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma, will try to push into southern Missouri, bringing rain chances south of I-70 in mid-Missouri, through mid-morning. Folks north of I-70 will begin to see rain chances by the afternoon, with thunderstorms moving in form the north west. Strength of storms at this point is uncertain. While severe storms are not out of the question, the chance is currently low. This will bring an area wide chance through the evening as rain pushes south Friday night. Temperatures ahead of the rain may reach low 90s, but rainfall will interrupt the warmup where it falls.
EXTENDED: By Saturday morning, we'll start sunny, with partly cloudy skies developing by the afternoon. Expect a high near 90. Sunday starts dry, with a high in the low 90s, but rain chances return by the evening. Low confidence rain chances linger into early next week, as we continue with northwest flow and the active pattern it suggests. Upper level high pressure tries to inch in by the end of next week, potentially lowering our rain chances, and heating us up. Temperatures remain in the low 90s through Tuesday, but potentially climb into the upper 90s by Wednesday.
