Tracking afternoon sunshine before late week rain

Today: Afternoon highs warm into the lower 80s as winds switch out of the northeast at 4-8 mph. The UV Index climbs to nine meaning a sunburn time of 20 minutes is possible.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the upper 50s with partly cloudy skies. Winds remain calm out of the northeast.

Extended: Thursday afternoon welcomes an increase in cloud cover with a possible spotty shower/ pop-up thunderstorm possible. Scattered showers and storms move through the region ahead of an incoming front Friday morning before exiting to the east by Friday night. Winds return out of the north cooling highs into the mid-70s both Friday and Saturday.
