Tracking lingering rain chances ahead of a dry and mild week

TODAY: Scattered showers are still ongoing this morning. Showers and storms will linger in the forecast today, but in a very light and an isolated manner. Not much more in the way of measurable rain is expected today north of HWY 50. For folks near The Lake of the Ozarks to Hermann and areas south, better chances for thunderstorms return this afternoon. An isolated strong to severe storm is possible, but for folks in this area, the chance for severe weather is similar to yesterday, very low. Expect a range of temperatures from upper 60 near Moberly, to nearly 80 near I-44.

TONIGHT: Temperatures will fall with nightfall, and cooler air moving in from the backside of this system. Scattered showers and storms will become a bit more widespread. Rain comes to an end around sunrise on Tuesday.

EXTENDED: Tuesday looks mostly dry, with clouds dispersing late in the day. Expect lower humidity, and temperatures in the 70s. Dry weather and bright skies linger Wednesday and Thursday, while temperatures slowly climb back to near 80. Humidity should remain relatively manageable compared to days past. A cold front is on the way for Friday, with widespread rain and thunder a possibility. The cold front cools us this weekend, with bright skies and 70s forecast Saturday and Sunday.
