Tracking a windy start of week before late week rain

Today: Afternoon highs reach into the lower 60s with mostly sunny skies. Winds remain very gusty up to the mid-30s from the northwest. The combination of a drier grounds, low humidity, and strong winds leads toward an elevated risk of wild fires.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the upper 30s with mostly clear conditions. Winds remain gusty out of the northwest up to 30 mph.

Extended: Temperatures warm into the lower 70s by the end of the week as showers and storms look to return by Thursday afternoon. Chances of showers and storms remain with Central Missouri through next week as highs continue to warm to the lower 80s by next Monday.
