Tracking a warm start to a cool week

TODAY: Our southwest breeze continues this morning, until around midday, when a cold front is expected to slide through the region. Temperatures will warm to near 70, with most in the upper 60s, and a few southeast of Jefferson City having a chance at 70 or more.

TONIGHT: Temperatures will fall into the 50s through the dinner hour, with 30s expected by sunrise on Tuesday.

EXTENDED: Tuesday starts cooler, and ends cooler. Increasing clouds over a northeast breeze will keep temperatures near 50 for a high. Showers will hold off for most of the day, but rain chances start to pick up around the dinner hour, especially in the southwest. Light showers overspread the region into the evening, and leave by Wednesday morning. Wednesday looks like it will trend drier through the day, before more rain chances return Wednesday night/Thursday morning. We're cooler with 40s for highs on Wednesday and Thursday. Even as rain exits for Friday, we end the week near 50 degrees Friday afternoon. The weekend is trending cool as well, with rain chances returning by Sunday.
