Tracking cool air and a chance of light evening showers
TODAY: Skies will transition from sunny to partly cloudy, to mostly cloudy throughout the day Friday. Still, it's primarily the north breeze that slows our warmup today. We'll also have a long way to climb as temperatures start in the teens and 20s across the region. Expect highs in the upper-30s this afternoon.
TONIGHT: With the added cloud cover, some light showers will develop. These showers will be fighting some dry air, so very light precipitation, if any, is forecast. Some of this light rain may have some freezing potential where temperatures fall below freezing. Still, no impacts are expected.
EXTENDED: Rain moves away as high pressure moves in, but high clouds lingering keep us partly to mostly cloudy on Saturday. Temperatures will warm into the low 50s on the west side of high pressure Saturday afternoon. By Sunday, a warm front over lifting the region will bring highs in the 60's and some isolated to scattered thunderstorms during the midday. Widespread rain and storms will move in Sunday nigh and/or Monday morning as a cold front sweeps through behind it. Monday is warm, in the 60s through midday, until cold air sweeps in to knock temperatures down a notch on Tuesday. Still, highs on Tuesday should reach mid-to-upper 50s with sunshine ahead of a warmer day on Wednesday.
