Tracking a warmer afternoon with mid-week rain

TODAY: Monday is easing us into the week, with plenty of sunshine, and highs in the low 60s. Some clouds will be with us to start, but we'll have mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions through the day with a breeze from the west-southwest.

TONIGHT: We'll keep partly cloudy skies tonight, ahead of a weak cold front that will drift in from the north. This will bring a slim chance for a few showers overnight near Macon and Paris.

EXTENDED: Any rain that materializes is gone by sunrise Tuesday, where we'll see more sunshine during the day. Winds shift back from the south-southeast, warming us back to near 60. Clouds work in by sunset. These clouds fill in by early Wednesday, where we'll start to see chance for showers. Scattered showers and thunderstorms spread across the region along a warm front. By the afternoon, we're warmer, as we'll sit just south of the front. Here, temperatures may climb as high as mid-60s. Just how warm, and whether or not we see any dry weather will be determined by how far north this front travels. This all lifts north with a cold front sweeping through by Thursday morning, leaving us drier, with a high in the 50s. The cooling continues, dropping us into the teens by Friday morning. Temperatures only recover into the 40s Friday afternoon. Temperatures rebound into the weekend, but so do rain chances.
